Kitchen Training for Culinary Careers

Certificate Value: Equivalent to one year of industry experience with participating partners
Financial Aid: Available for eligible students (including Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and Bartenders Union Local 165 members)

Kitchen Program Offerings

Length: 97 hours (3 weeks)
Description: Learn kitchen maintenance, sanitation, and equipment handling. Applied learning through real-time experiences.
Requirements Age 17+, valid ID, Social Security Card, SNHD Food Handler Card, ability to lift 50 pounds, proficiency in English or successful completion of Vocational English class
Cost: $849 (tuition assistance available for qualifying students) | No charge for employer partner team members

Length: 377 hours (13 weeks)
Description: Develop professional cooking skills, food production techniques, and plate presentation. Gain hands-on experience in real kitchen settings.
Requirements: Age 17+, valid ID, Social Security Card, SNHD Food Handler Card, proficiency in English
Cost: $3384 (tuition assistance available for qualifying students) | No charge for employer partner team members

Length: 182 hours (12 weeks)
Description: Learn to create cakes, pastries, breads, and confections. Develop baking skills through hands-on experience in real kitchen settings.
Requirements: Age 17+, valid ID, Social Security Card, SNHD Food Handler Card, proficiency in English
