Want to improve your English for a career in hospitality? CALV’s English as a Second Language (ESL) and Vocational English (VE) programs help you build the language skills needed for success. Start with ESL to develop a strong foundation, then advance to Vocational English to master industry-specific vocabulary—giving you the confidence to communicate effectively in the workplace and beyond.

English as a Second Language Program Offerings

Length: 4 weeks
Description: Build a foundation in English with practical lessons in reading, speaking, listening, and writing. Prepare for the next step—CALV’s Vocational English program. No prior English knowledge required.
Requirements Age 17+, valid ID, English assessment
Cost: No cost

Length: 2 weeks
Description: Learn essential hospitality vocabulary, grammar, and real-world communication skills. Prepare for success in CALV’s Guest Room Attendant or Kitchen Steward programs.
Requirements: Age 17+, valid ID, Social Security card, basic conversational English ability or complete CALV English as a Second Language (ESL) class
